
Purpose
The American Legion Auxiliary is a patriotic women's service organization of 900,000 members. Founded in 1919, members of the organiztion support the work of The American Legion. The organization sponsors volunteer programs on the national and local levels focusing on three major areas: veterans, young people and the community.
Auxiliary Mission
- To support The American Legion and its programs for veterans, young people and community
- To provide for today's needs while being advocates for a brighter future
- To advance the understanding of patriotism and responsibility of citizenship
- To promote individual integrity and family values
- To ensure, as volunteers, that Auxiliary members continue to promote all that is good in the nation today, tomorrow and for generations to come through serving others first and not self
Associate with The American Legion and support the work of the world's largest veterans' organization.
Uphold the law of the land and defend the principles of democracy.
X-plain and guard the basic freedoms of religion and expression.
Instill a sense of obligation to the community, state and nation.
Leaders in education for young people.
Implement numerous community efforts and programs to assist families and children across the nation.
Assist our nation's veterans through legislation, fundraising, and volunteerism.
Raise awaremess of patriotism and devotion to country.
Year-round participation and didication to service, not self.
